After taking this subject, students are expected to develop the knowledge and skills about restructuring concepts and processes. They are related do: (1) business strategy of organizations, (2) leaders and their teams, (3) organizational structures, and (4) financial structures. This course exposes the students to a broad range of restructuring techniques which can be applied to improve the business and financial performance of organizations. It examines the business strategies and leadership which create and drive the restructuring transactions. These transactions include mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, bankruptcy proceedings, privatizations, and reorganizations. The course covers the restructuring of private corporations as well as state-owned companies.
